Steen-Hall Eye Institute is a comprehensive vision care facility. Encompassing over 70,000 square feet, it is a joint venture between Willis-Knighton Medical Center and the physicians of the ophthalmic practice, Steen-Hall & Associates. Included in the facility are the offices of Dr. William H. Steen, Jr., Dr. Donald L. Hall and Dr. William A. Byrd. Another key feature of the facility is the Willis-Knighton Eye Surgery Center - the region's first hospital out-patient surgery department dedicated exclusively to eye surgery. The Institute also includes the Refractive Surgery and Excimer Laser Center, which houses the first excimer laser in the Ark-La-Tex to be used for the treatment of nearsightedness. The strong commitment to community health education shared by the doctors of Steen-Hall and Willis-Knighton Medical Center is reflected in the Kerlin Memorial Auditorium. In addition to the numerous programs hosted by the hospital, the Steen-Hall physicians frequently conduct free seminars on such topics as Refractive Surgery, Cataract Surgery, Diabetic Retinopathy, and Macular Degeneration. |
